Hello-

This is Paulie Soltys, brother of Jaime Soltys and his wife Tess, uncle to their son Skai. Let me lead with Jaime will probably be angry with me for creating this, but I will deal with that. Jaime, Tess, and Skai have unfortunately had some bad luck. While out for a stroll with Skai they came back to their apartment on fire. Luckily for everyone in their apartment building, no one was hurt, but unfortunately Jaime and family are now displaced and essentially all of their belongings were smoke damaged. Skai recently celebrated his 1st birthday in October so the pressure on Jaime and Tess right now is immeasurable. Trying to find a place to stay, clothing, eating, working with insurance companies, landlord, the list goes on.

I cannot say this enough-My brother Jaime is probably the best, most beautiful, genuine, generous, down to earth (albeit a little out there sometimes hahah), grateful, giving, selfless, would do ANYTHING for anyone person in the world. I’ve personally witnessed him literally countless times help complete strangers or people in need with his actions. He spent several Thanksgivings with his friends making Turkey sandwich’s and handing them out to the homeless on their own money, all because he couldn’t afford the expensive flight back to New Jersey to spend Thanksgiving with us.

That said, I feel like the universe owes Jaime and his Family back. I know I do. My brother has done more for me the. I can explain over my 46 years on this rock. I know he has touched 1,000’s of lives over his almost 50 years. He found his forever person in Tess who also is an amazing person, wife, and mother. She has the brightest smile and a great attitude on life in general and is always helping people not only in her personal life but her professional life as a nurse.

Both of these folks, and I’m sure Skai in the future, would be there for anyone who needed assistance. Jaime and Tess are so self-less that they didn’t even tell ANYONE, not even ME (HAHA) that they had a fire until they were “ok”. I wasn’t happy about that. Not a single social media post, not a call, not a text. Why? Because they didn’t want anyone to worry.

I'm sorry if this was long winded, anything you can do to help my brother and his family through this difficult time would be appreciated.

Again, he will probably be mad at me for even doing this but nobody deserves it more than Jaime and Tess.
