Help Jaime & Elijah Stay in Their Home

Donation protected
My name is Jaime, and I’m reaching out for help to keep my son Elijah and me in our home. Elijah is 20 years old, medically compromised, autistic, and bipolar. He relies on air conditioning and a refrigerator for his medication, and he has four emotional support animals who are a vital part of his daily life. We moved into our current house in December, and it’s been a safe, stable place for us—something Elijah especially needs. Losing our home would put Elijah in a tailspin, and we have no family or anyone else we can stay with.

In January, I lost my job due to medical issues, even though I was able and willing to work. Since then, I haven’t had any income. I’m not receiving unemployment because of a dispute over a claim from 15 years ago, which I’m currently appealing in court. Despite having a Master’s degree and applying for over 1,000 jobs in the past six months, I haven’t been able to secure new employment yet. My landlord has been understanding, but after six months of missed rent, we’re now facing eviction. I’m also behind on utilities, which are essential for Elijah’s health and well-being. I have reached out to over 20 agencies for help, but there is no funding available.

We need to raise funds by the end of the month to avoid losing our home and to keep utilities running. If you’re able to help, your support will go directly toward rent and utility bills, giving us the stability we need while I continue my job search. If anyone knows of an HR position, I’m ready to start immediately. Thank you for reading and for any help you can offer.
