Single Mom in need: help her get back to stability
Donation protected
We at Clementine’s Voice pledge to help mothers and children in need. In memory of Clementine, we make a promise to speak for the voiceless, defend the vulnerable, and remember the forgotten.
We were recently contacted by a single mother who chose life - not because it was easy, but because of love. In her darkest moment, when she believed abortion was her only option, she chose love, hope, and a different path. Because of her compassion, she walked away from that clinic - and today, her son, is a joyful little boy about to celebrate his second birthday in 2 days.
This is J and her son’s story:
Hi, my name is J, and I’m a single mom to a beautiful, almost 2-year-old boy, his birthday is May 28th.
I never imagined things would get this hard, but I’m doing everything I can to survive and give my child the best life, and right now, we really need help, we can’t do this alone. He is my life and my world, I love him so much.
I lost my last job because I had no childcare support. Being a single mom you have to make difficult discussions. I was forced to choose between work and caring for my baby alone, and of course, my child had to come first. I recently started a new full-time job with state benefits that could finally give us some stability. But I’m still in the probation period, and if I miss even a day, I could lose the job, the benefits, and the Childcare Network I was just approved for.
Now, my car has completely broken down. It has a major transmission issue and is considered a total loss. It was a 2015 with a salvage title, and fixing it isn’t an option.
Without a car, getting to work and daycare is nearly impossible. Public transportation isn’t a realistic option, the daycare isn’t near any bus or train stops. I’d have to walk over a mile with my baby to daycare, then rush back to catch a bus to work. And I work until 11 PM, which means I’d be waiting for buses and walking home with my child in the dark. It’s not safe, and it’s not something I can keep doing.
I’ve found a reliable car for $8,700, and I’m trying to raise $9,000 to cover the car, insurance, and everything needed to keep us moving forward.
I’m not asking for a handout, I’m asking for a lifeline. I just need help making it through this critical time so I can stay employed, keep my childcare, and give my baby a safe, stable life.
My baby’s birthday is in 2 days and I had to cancel the plans for Chuck E. Cheese, and even a small gift. God has given me the best gift I can ask for having my son in my life. If it was not for people showing me real support that day in front of the abortion clinic, I wouldn’t have my beautiful gift.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference for my family. - J
Every life matters. Every mother matters. And love will always speak louder than silence.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with mothers who are fighting to keep going, just like J.
