Hi, my name is Jaeleon Hawkins-Jones. I’m a high school junior in Gwinnett County, Georgia, a member of the Gwinnett Young Democrats, and I’m passionate about helping families in need, because I know what that struggle feels like.
My family has relied on SNAP benefits too, so I understand how much these resources matter when you’re trying to make ends meet. That’s why this issue hits home for me. Starting November 1, 2025, SNAP benefits in Georgia will be paused, leaving thousands of families, including ones just like mine, without enough support to put food on the table.
I’m launching this fundraiser, SNAP Pause Support, to provide essential food boxes directly to families across Gwinnett County impacted by this pause.
Each food box will include:
• Non-perishable staples (rice, pasta, canned goods, beans, peanut butter, cereal)
• Snack items for children
• Bottled water or shelf-stable milk
I will be partnering with a local non-profit organization to make this possible. Specifically a Co-Op Ministry. Your donations will help us purchase, package, and distribute these food boxes to local families before the SNAP pause begins.
Every contribution counts:
$25 = 1 family food box
$50 = 2 family food boxes
$100 = a week of meals for multiple households
If you can donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you can’t, please share this page so we can reach more people who care. Together, we can make sure no family in Gwinnett goes without food during the SNAP pause.
