Our community has given $2,000, which covered two months' rent while Jacques continues looking for work and improving his English skills. Since this is a very difficult to achieve, we are continuing to ask for more donations to get him a little further along in his search. Thanks again to all of you for believing in Jacques and helping him to get established in the US and support his family back in Haiti.
Jacques is a young man who has sought refuge from the terrible poverty and violence in Haiti, his home. His English language skills are not yet strong, and he is struggling to find work so he can stay in this country and send money to his struggling family in Haiti. Any donations right now will enable him to pay his rent and buy food. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
Jacques is one of five children born to a farming family in a little province in Northern Haiti. He grew up doing agriculture, raising food and animals to feed his family and sell in the market. Later, he went to school for business, and later still, joined a political party opposed to the current bandits who are running Haiti. He is 36 years old, a devout Christian, and has a wife and two children back in Haiti.
Jacques tells his story: He crossed over to the U.S. from Mexico and encountered many difficulties. He could not find work, and had no money to support himself. He is alive today thanks to the kindness of people.
He wishes people to know that above all, he wants to work. He is honest and intelligent and also very stressed worrying about his family.
He would like to thank anyone who contributes to his GoFundMe and to pray that God blesses them, protects them, supports them and comforts them. Blessings and gratitude to all.
