Many of you may know my Grandma Jackie Murphy. Jackie has made a profound impact on a lot of people in her life. She was a teacher at the SRJC for many, many years and loved the connections she made with her beloved students and faculty. She's a peaceful and loving person.
These past few years have been difficult for her and our family. Jackie has been silently battling significantly prolonged health issues that have been been rapidly progressing these last few months. She recently had an accident occur at home, that left her with a large wound on her hand and the inability to walk. We were able to get her through a physical rehabilitation program to the point where she could walk with a walker. She returned home with the plan of caregivers 24 hours for a few days, then to reduce caregiving time. Upon returning home, it became clear that she will not reach a point where she can be safely home alone at all.
As you all know, a teacher doesn't teach for the salary. We are unable to afford the 24-hour care she needs in her home. We are asking for help to provide her with comfort in a home care facility, to help pay for the 24-hour caregiving we've been having to get her so far, and to help pay for getting her beloved dog Cali taken care of.
Please donate if you can and share. Our family would be eternally grateful for any support during these stressful times.
As my grandma would say, "Have a beautiful day guys, Namaste."
