Help Jack See the Fall Leaves One Last Time
Hello, as everyone knows, or knows now, my dad Jack has decided to go on hospice, just a year after we lost my mother Ellen to cancer last February. Treatments for his cancer are no longer working, and his cardiologist has said that there is nothing more they can do. Given this situation, my father's health is deteriorating, and we need help caring for him. He has moved in with me, but I am in nursing school, so he will be home alone during the day. This greatly concerns me, and if anyone has dealt with hospice, you know that they do not allow a nurse to be with him for extended periods. My brother and I are trying to share the costs of hiring a private nurse to ensure that our father is safe and comfortable when my husband and I are not there.
We understand that times are tough for everyone, but since I am in dual nursing programs at HCC and WSU, I am not working. Therefore, my husband's income is the only one we rely on now, and my brother can only contribute so much, as he has many bills, too. We are reaching out to all our friends, family, and anyone kind-hearted enough to donate towards hiring an in-home nurse for the days I'm at school so we can keep our father at home for his hospice care. His last wish is to be home in Chester and see the fall leaves change one more time before he passes, and we are doing everything we can to make that happen.
Please help make our father's wish come true and support my brother and me during this heartbreaking time.
