Help Jace & His Son Rebuild: From Hard Times to a New Start
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Coby, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my brother, Jace — a hardworking, big-hearted dad who’s spent his life showing up for others. Jace is a licensed HVAC technician and a single father raising a teenage son with Cerebral Palsy. He’s the kind of person who fixes what’s broken — not just in houses, but in people’s lives. Whether it’s hosting a backyard BBQ, dropping off a hot meal, or checking in on our elderly dad, Jace gives with his whole heart and never asks for anything in return.
But this past year has tested him in ways that no one could have prepared for. After losing his job, burning through his savings, and doing everything he could to stay afloat, Jace now finds himself in crisis. He's at risk of losing his home while caring full-time for his son — and at the same time, he’s working to build something new and more secure for their future.
What Happened
In November 2024, Jace was laid off. Despite applying to dozens of jobs and landing a short-term position in early 2025, he's still without stable work. He’s done everything he can to stay afloat — burning through savings, applying for benefits, and cutting costs wherever possible — all while continuing to care for his son full-time.
His son now receives Medicare, and they receive government food assistance, but many of their most essential needs — housing, utilities, and transportation — remain unpaid.
Now, Jace is at risk of losing his home, even as he prepares to start a business that could provide long-term stability.
A Path Forward
Jace is determined not to just survive this moment — but to rebuild. He’s preparing to launch a handyman and general contracting business, which would allow him to:
Earn stable, self-directed income
Create flexibility for parenting his son
Regain financial independence
Avoid future layoffs and instability
To do that, he needs help catching up and covering startup costs.
Goal: $6888 to Secure Their Future
We’re raising $6888 to cover:
Past-due rent and basic utilities
Licensing exams and fees to become a certified contractor
Contractor’s insurance (required for client work)
Food, gas, and essentials during this transition period
Rent and other expenses for the next month for cushion while his business grows
Here’s the full breakdown:
Milestone Amount What It Covers
Milestone 1 $2,800 Catch up on back rent (March–May)
Milestone 2 $3,700 Rent + electricity, gas, water, internet, phone
Milestone 3 $4,300 Rent + utilities + groceries/gas
Milestone 4 $5,500 Launch handyman business (licenses, exams, insurance) + cushion for the next month
Milestone 5 $6888 Coverage for unexpected expenses, utilities, etc.
Why This Matters
Jace is one of those people who gives more than he takes. He’s the guy who brings over home-cooked food without being asked. The one who quietly makes sure the people around him are okay.
He’s cared for his son with unwavering dedication and never asked for much in return. As a matter of fact, it was very difficult for him to ask me to help him start this campaign.
This moment is hard, but it doesn’t have to define him. With your help, Jace and his son can get through this and step into a new chapter — one built on security, independence, and dignity. He will never give up, and neither will I.
