Robbed After Being Rescued from the Floods - Help Us Get Back on Our Feet

Hi, I'm Jace,

On Christmas Eve morning, my partner Alex and I were airlifted off the roof of our car by LA County Fire after flash flooding trapped us near Big Rock Creek in California. The water came up fast. We made it out with our two dogs, Growlithe and Luna, two small backpacks, and that's about it.

Unfortunately, when we were finally able to get back to our car a few days later, someone had broken into it and taken almost everything. Our tent. Our power station. Our portable fridge. Most of our clothes. Most of our food. They even took our fire safe that had our birth certificates, social security cards, and bank documents!

We were in the process of moving for work and had our whole lives with us in the car.

I'm a chef, and they took nearly all of my work clothes and my cooking tools. Some of this I can't return to work without replacing.

I'm not going to lie, asking for help is hard. But we need it. We survived a flood and then got robbed while we were still trying to catch our breath. Family has helped us with a hotel and food so far, and they've done everything they can, but they don't have much either.

What we need the funds for:

- Replacing the gear and equipment we lost (tent, dog crates, sleeping bags, sleeping pad, tools, bags)

- Replacing my work clothes and cooking tools so I can get back to work

- Replacing our important documents (fees, travel, time off work)

- Paying back family who helped us when we had nothing

- Replacing some of our most important clothing items and some of our nonperishable food stores and dog food that was stolen.

Every bit helps. If you can't donate, sharing this means just as much. We just need to get our feet back under us.
