Help Izaiah and Vanessa Through This Tough Time
Donation protected
My 10-year-old nephew, Izaiah Matthew Solis, was diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome 4 months ago. One day, he started to have these uncontrollable movements, and we didn’t know what was going on with him. But my sister Vanessa took him to Texas Children’s Hospital, and that’s when he was diagnosed with Tourette’s. The doctors ended up putting him on a medication that seemed to help stop the movements until about a month ago when the medication stopped working. My sister Vanessa decided to take him back to Texas Children’s Hospital. At that time, he was hospitalized for 2 days, then was sent home. My nephew showed no signs of improvement. The medication he was put on was not working anymore, so the doctor put him on another medication along with the one he was taking. Still was not working!!! My sister called the doctor to let him know that he still was not improving. The doctor increased the dosage of the new medication, which caused my nephew to have a really bad reaction. The new medication made his body hurt; he would cry that his shoulder hurt, his eyes would stay closed, and he didn’t speak well. My sister Vanessa ended up calling 911, and he was transported back to Texas Children’s. He was hospitalized for 7 days and was released today, 9/13/2024. Later that day, my mom noticed my nephew Izaiah going through the same thing that he went through that Saturday when he was admitted into the hospital. My sister Vanessa called 911 again to get him checked out, and he was admitted back into the hospital.
With all of this that has been going on with my nephew Izaiah, my sister Vanessa has missed a lot of work due to this. And due to missing work, she lost out on money. She gets no sick time, no vacation time, and no child support from Izaiah’s father. So, this is why I’m reaching out to those that may want to help my sister Vanessa out with whatever money that I can raise for her.
