Ivan and Paige Marsh need our help.
The Situation
As many of you probably know, Ivan and Paige and big brother Jack were blessed with beautiful twins, Wyatt and Layne, on February 8. One new baby is a handful and a half, but two at the same time takes things to a whole new level. Their lives became even more challenging when they recently found out that Layne has Sandifer’s Syndrome, which makes keeping food down extra hard and makes her extra sad.
They’ve been hanging in there—exhausted, but making it—until this week. This week, Momma Paige fell and broke her ankle. The doctor says she can’t put any weight on it for eight weeks.
You moms out there have a pretty good idea of how difficult it can be to bounce back after having a baby - but to have two babies at once, one with special needs; to be sleep-deprived, trying to parent your three-year-old, and then to be in serious pain and find out you’re not even going to be able to walk across the room to pick up your crying baby babies for two months . . . Hard doesn’t begin to describe it.
Ivan is doing his best to take care of everyone, but he could really use some relief too. Especially since he’s (attempting) to continue working remotely. They are in survival mode, and could really use a miracle.
What We Can Do to Help:
Pray - Your prayers are absolutely needed and appreciated right now.
Send a Note - They may not be able to answer the phone, but an email, a letter, even a text message letting them know you’re thinking about them and praying would mean the world to them.
Donate! - We’ve found a full-time baby nurse to stay with the Marsh family while Paige heals. She is trained to work with newborn twins and would help take care of the babies at night, manage feedings, handle diaper changes, help get the babies on a schedule, prepare nutritious food for Paige, and more! This would give Paige and Ivan some time to breathe to catch up on sleep,
We would like to arrange for the baby nurse to come as soon as possible, and to stay for two weeks. After the baby nurse leaves, we are making arrangements for a helper to stay with them for the next six weeks until Paige is on her feet again. We anticipate that the cost to provide a baby nurse and a helper to cover the whole time Paige is out of commission will be around $16,500.
We all love Ivan and Paige, and while we can’t all go to their house and take night shifts for them, we can all pitch in to provide someone who can! Let’s put those stimulus checks and tax refunds to good use!
Thank you for helping the Marsh family get the help they need to turn their world right-side-up again!
