Help Iulia get an ADHD assessment

Donation protected
Hi everyone, I am fundraising for my sister Iulia (15).

I am Alina, I’m 25 and i’m Iulia‘s older sister. I am a late diagnosed Autistic with ADHD myself.

Even though I am the first one in my family to get an ADHD diagnosis, there is clearly a genetic link. My brother (31) is currently on the waiting list, and my dad highly suspects that he has ADHD. Iulia has been struggling for a while now with ADHD related issues. This year she is in year 11 and is going to do her GCSE’s. I really want her to have the support and accommodations she deserves. Ones that I did not get growing up throughout my school life. I had a really hard time throughout school, sixth form and university and I really want to spare my sister from going through the same thing.

Iulia was on the NHS ADHD waiting list for about a year and when it came around to doing her assessment, the team that was assessing her decided to ask her school what they thought. Because Iulia‘s school said that she is a “good and non-disruptive” student she was dropped from the assessment service. This was so disappointing and really frustrating for everyone, but especially Iulia! If you know about ADHD and the different presentations of it, you will know that someone can have ADHD and be a “good, non-disruptive student”. Iulia struggles greatly every day with forgetfulness, executive dysfunction, distractibility, procrastination, and just about everything to do with ADHD. And she does get called out by her teachers for being spacey and distractible. Except this now gets pinned on her as a “flaw” and is not seen for what it it (an ADHD symptom & struggle). As the years go by the undiagnosed and untreated ADHD symptoms only get more difficult to manage.

I’d be so grateful if you could donate or share this with anyone who could so that we could afford to get my sister an assessment with Psychiatry UK. After using the Psychiatry UK service myself, and also researching and asking others about their experience with various ADHD services. I’ve decided on this one. Because they are trustworthy, and the turnaround for private child ADHD assessments is quick. This is what we need because she is in her GCSE year now.

If you want to know more about me, you can check out my social pages. I am a content creator and make content about Autism, ADHD and OCD. My youtube channel is “@audhdbaddie” and my tiktok and instagram are “@audhdbaddiewithafatty”. I recently talked about my little sister’s story and a handful of people really kindly offered to donate towards Iulia’s diagnosis. So I thought I would take the step and make a gofundme.
Unfortunately, my family don’t have the means to take her for a private diagnosis and  I also am not in a position where I could pay for her assessment myself as I am struggling with my own disabilities and am not in a great financial position and so i have turned to this option hoping it could work out.
I ask you to please share this with people who you think might be able to help. And thank you for taking the time to read.

At the moment i am setting the target for £700 as from what i have read, this is the minimum price for a child ADHD consultation. I am not sure if she would need two consultations or one. But for now, to get the ball rolling £700 is our aim, to get her in and booked. <3
