The Indian Student Association (ISA) at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is a vibrant student-led organization that promotes Indian culture, fosters a sense of community, and supports Indian students on campus. Our mission is to provide a platform where students can celebrate Indian traditions, connect with their peers, and create a welcoming space for cultural exchange.
Throughout the year, ISA hosts various events such as cultural festivals, workshops, and social gatherings, showcasing the rich diversity of Indian culture. From Diwali Night to Holi celebrations, we aim to share the beauty of Indian traditions with the entire SIUE community while creating unforgettable experiences for our members.
This year, ISA is raising funds to enhance the quality of our cultural events, support community-building initiatives, and ensure the continuation of meaningful programs for Indian and international students alike. Specifically, we are working to:
- Host Larger Cultural Events: We aim to make our signature events like Diwali Night and Holi even bigger and better, offering a memorable experience to all attendees with authentic performances, food, and decorations. Increased funding will help us bring in cultural performers, improve event logistics, and offer more interactive experiences for the SIUE community.
- Support Indian Students at SIUE: The funds raised will also go towards helping new Indian students transition smoothly into life at SIUE. This includes organizing orientation sessions, providing resources for academic and cultural adjustment, and creating a support network for students far from home.
- Promote Cultural Awareness: We believe in the importance of cultural exchange and diversity on campus. The funds will be used to organize events and activities that not only celebrate Indian culture but also encourage collaboration and cultural awareness among all students at SIUE.
