Hi, my name is Solomon Eshetu Singleton and I was adopted from Welete, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia- a poor region at the horn of Africa, at the age of 6 after the death of my mother. I was extremely blessed to be adopted by amazing God loving parents by the names Carlos and Loretta Singleton. After 11 years of living in the west side of Chicago, I had the opportunity to visit my country again. Visiting my country again made me realize I have everything to be grateful for in the United States which influenced me to make a gofundme in order to provide a better living situation for my family in Ethiopia . I realized how lucky I am to have had the opportunity to get a great education in America, so I would like to provide my nephews with an education as well. They are currently unable to get an education because my family can not afford it. Even though my 2 brother- in-laws and father work 10-12 hours a day each, they only make a combined income of $3,700 a year which leaves no money for education. I personally know that it is extremely stressful for them that they are not able to provide more for their family. They currently combine their money together and rent two, one room apartments/shelters for the eight of them. For all these reasons, I have decided I want to try and raise the funds to help my nephews get an education and if possible help my family move into a slightly bigger apartments/shelters. Their current apartments/shelters do not guarantee everyday water, showering, electricity, etc... I also would like to try and provide healthcare and keep any extra savings in case of sudden emergencies. I am working towards raising $30k and would greatly appreciate any amount of donations.
