My name is Idalia Nelson Thrax. On November 11, 2025, I lost my spouse and my home to a tragic fire. Now, my son and I are struggling to find a temporary home as soon as possible. Anything and everything helps as we work to pick up our lives again and wait for reconstruction, which may take a year.
My spouse, Theanos Thrax, was a beloved member of many communities and is sorely missed. Many knew Theanos by the online name of “Anomalous Thracian”, who worked tirelessly to provide, protect, and defend meaning, integrity, and dignity. Theanos’s words have touched many, and for as many words that Theanos wrote, the work of being an activist for human rights and identity is not over.
Navigating through this is a single day at a time, and staying in a hotel is more than we can afford as we wait for all the paperwork, planning, arrangements and more to be resolved. We need to replace everything and find a small place to live for the immediate future.
