Help Hydrate Student Athletes (and help me get my Eagle)

Hello to my family, friends, community, and anyone else who wants to help us out,

My name is Jay Frey. I am a high school football player and Scout in Ashland, Oregon. Big chunks of my life have been spent with my Scouting family and my Football family. I'm currently a Life Scout and want my Eagle Project to benefit something I care about a lot, the athletics program. Throughout my life, I've learned so many skills and life lessons through both Scouting and football. I'd like to use this Eagle project as an opportunity to combine both of these things to help our wider community. These funds will help upgrade the Ashland High School's and Middle School's hydration stations.

Ashland high school currently has one team drinking station located at the front of the football field. The athletics department has expressed the desire to have a second drinking station at the back of the field. I hope to raise enough funds to buy supplies and build four hydration stations. An increase in the number of drinking stations for use at both practices and games will also make the equipment available to other teams and potentially the middle school as well.

Access to water during sports is extremely important in order to maintain health. Unfortunately, the current drinking station has a number of drawbacks. While it allows access to multiple players at once, it does it by having water flow continuously out of multiple openings with the water coming from a water hose. This is problematic because the water flows freely onto the field creating a muddy, mess and is extremely wasteful of the clean water. Additionally, the water is currently unfiltered. By replacing the current station with new, filtered water drinking stations, it will allow for multiple student athletes to access clean drinking water with increased efficiency.

Please consider donating to this project and I thank you for any support you are able to offer!
