Hi, I'm Hunter (at least some people call me that) and this is a fundraiser to help get a brand-spankin' new WASHING MACHINE and DRIER for my grandmother!
I've been unemployed for about two years and have yet to hired on by any places I've applied. In that span of time I've occasionally been able to afford a few trips to the grocery store with money I've made through PayPal being commissioned to make art while I sought work over the internet. Living in a rural part of Alabama it's cons, with a decreasing number of pros (when it's nice out I like going outside!)
Unfortunately, saving up cash to afford things like appliances just isn't in my current deck of cards. They cost upwards of hundreds, sometimes thousands, and I'm already relying on stuff I bought from the earlier half of the decade to get things done when people ask me for help.
I live with other people and we all use the same appliances. We had a housefire back in 2015 and a lot of the stuff we were able to get around that time is "showing it's age" or flat out not working anymore.
And yes, we've replaced parts and even had a full on hand-me-down washer given to us by a relative, but sadly it just isn't working how we had hoped. Both machines are still worn and we keep having to repair them.
Despite her unwillingness to help me with this campaign, I told my grandmother I would set it up anyways.
She doesn't like the idea of "asking other people for money". I've given other people money when I've had some myself, through both donations and buying folks groceries at my last retail job. I have no qualms with the notion of mutual aid. I have a lot of opinions tied to the situation(s) many of us find ourselves in... For now, though,
all I can ask if that you consider donating so we can wash and dry clothes here in the house again!
I don't have a bank account to put the money in, so I've asked a family member to let me use her's. My sister said she'd be okay with us doing this, which makes her the beneficiary for the campaign. Once we meet the fixed goal of 2 thousand I'll happily show you all the new machines after we've got them in the house!
We've had car accidents, insurance hikes, job losses, occasional employment that went nowhere, and it's been a rough time for a long while in all sorts of ways. But I have hope something like this could help. I'll even try to find a means to thank anyone who openly donates with their name attached, maybe I could *call you out in a YouTube video*...?
Thank you so much for reading or skimming through any of this, every little bit helps, peace be with you all( ! ) ✌️
