Hi! My name is Isaac Fink and I’m a Senior at Windward High School in Los Angeles. I’m raising money to support UCLA Basic Needs, a program that helps UCLA students who are experiencing economic insecurity and struggling to afford basic necessities. Many college students—right here in our city—are going to class while hungry and unsure of how they will pay for books, supplies, food and other necessities. In a city with so much wealth and opportunity, this level of insecurity shouldn’t be happening. I was first made aware of this problem when my sister was attending college and she discovered a friend of hers was struggling with money, food and housing. Her friend benefited so much from the UC basic needs program and graduated with honors in public health. Students shouldn’t have to worry about where their next meal is coming from while also dealing with the stress of classes, jobs, and exams. Your donation could be the difference in their lives.
