As we enter these very difficult times with a lack in government assistance, it’s imperative that we come together as a community to assist those in need. With SNAP/TANF and WIC being cut, families will have to prioritize food and essentials; however, the holiday season can still be memorable for those same families if those who can spread their resources even slightly. As someone who has been less fortunate, my most memorable Christmas was funded by Salvation Army and their constant efforts to help families. The goal is to fundraise on this platform as well as with a few bake sales to purchase as many toys as possible, to then distribute to two shelters: Mission of Yahweh and Gracewood in Houston, Texas. Any donation will help, and if you’re unable, be of assistance to someone in your community in any way you can. We are all that we have in times like these.
