My name is Roger Terry. I'm starting this Gofundme on behalf of a living legend, and a good friend of mine. Stanley Wiater is the greatest journalist in the history of the horror genre. He has had conversations with Masters across literature and film, many encapsulated in his popular books, DARK DREAMERS and DARK VISIONS. You may know a few of these Dark Dreamers...

These legends listed are only a few out of the hundreds Stanley's held conversations with, many of which. Over the course of his career, Stanley Wiater accumulated the greatest archive of books, audio tapes, and artifacts across the history of the horror genre.

Sadly, much of his library has been auctioned off. The University of Pittsburgh has recently acquired the remains of Stanley's collection in order to preserve it in the first ever Horror Archive: books, audio tapes, papers from his time with macabre royalty. Now it is dwindled. He told me, "I used to have over 3,000 books, now I'm lucky enough to have 300."

This campaign is my attempt to help Stanley, one of the most important influences throughout my life. To be able to help him raise the funds necessary to bring his legendary collection together again, make it whole, would be one of the greatest honors of my life. The Stanley Wiater Archive of Modern Horror is the most expansive single-person collection ever in the genre. Our goal is to make it available at the University of Pittsburgh for all to see. To give back to the horror community.

We hope you consider donating. A plaque will be made for display at the archive for all those who aid us in the preservation of horror history. As Stanley has said many times before: "It is said that to best enjoy the light, you must first explore the heart and soul of the darkness." We hope that you will go exploring with us.
