Help Hope and Mouse Recover from Heartless Crime

My name is Tim Lasure. My parents, Hope and Mouse Lasure, are elderly and have had a tough go of it recently. Hope has heart issues and doesn't walk on her own, and is currently in a hospital for other issues. Mouse is in in-home hospice care due to lung cancer. He also suffers from Alzheimer's. The care my parents require is a very heavy load for my two sisters and me. So, we hire home caregivers. They clean, wash clothes, and do other basic household chores. A few days ago, Mom's sister passed away. Understandably, this was yet another blow as we try to keep our chins up. Little did we know things would get even worse.

On Thursday, May 15, my dad was being visited by one of his nurses. She stops a few days a week to check on his health, take his vitals, and keep us supplied with all his medical needs. While I was helping her, the home caregiver nurse removed my parents' cash box from our home and put it in her car. She had worked here a few weeks and managed to case the house, find the cash box, as well as the key, which was in a different location in the house. Then she asked me if she could leave early because she needed to go home to her child. Of course, I said yes.

Monday, May 19, we were shocked to find the cash box and key were missing. We couldn't imagine how anyone would be so cruel as to steal from a dying man. The box contained basically every cent my parents had left. We used the cash to pay for home health nurses. We couldn't imagine this person stealing anything, and now we know she spent all that money. She's now in jail on felony charges. But she spent the money.

I have to hand it to the WV State Police! They investigated, and within a few hours, arrested the caregiver who gave a confession. Unfortunately, the money is gone. Every cent they had saved for their medical needs in their old age. I can't believe there are people that uncaring! But obviously, there are a few.

Please help Mouse and Hope recover from this crime. I know there are good people out there. Many of you know my dad's band played for free at many benefits over the years, helping families recover from their own tragedies.
