Jim was a smart, funny, generous man with a big heart and a quick wit. He loved deeply, gave freely, and spent his life helping others—through his work, his friendships, and countless acts of quiet kindness.

In August 2024, Jim’s life changed forever when he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Renal Cell Carcinoma. At the time, he was uninsured—laid off from the unpredictable biotech industry and struggling to find work despite applying for jobs 6–8 hours a day. He didn’t qualify for government help because of modest savings, so he paid full price for treatment—$90,000 a month—until those savings were gone.

Even as the cancer spread to his kidney, lungs, and bones, Jim stayed strong. Treatments worked—tumors shrank, his lungs cleared, and most bone tumors disappeared. But in June 2025, a seizure revealed 5 brain tumors. On August 1, Jim began a new trial drug. Within 5 days, his kidney function crashed from 100% to 10%. His health declined rapidly, and on August 12, Jim passed peacefully at home, his wife holding his hand.

Now, his wife is left facing overwhelming medical debt, maxed-out credit cards, and the costs of giving Jim the memorial he deserves.

Jim and his wife have always been the first to help others—financially, emotionally, and through charitable work. Now, in this moment of heartbreak, they need that kindness returned.
