Dear friends of Chris,
Thank you for your help continuing Chris Casey’s legacy of grass roots DIY skatepark building in St. Louis, Missouri.
Over the last month we made amazing progress cleaning and improving The Slab. Shout out to all the people that helped on the construction side and those that donated to the Go Fund Me. Special shout out to everyone that came out and celebrated with us over the Labor Day weekend. If you were there you know it was a magical weekend and I want to thank each and every one of you for making Chris vision a reality. We did it!
The money raised in this fundraiser paid for over $3500 in concrete, material, supplies and tool rental. The funds in this account will be withdrawn by Ben Goeke and used to reimburse the organizers. The additional funds raised and all future donations will go towards maintenance, new obstacles, and fees associated with making this space a city sanctioned skatepark.
Every dollar will go directly toward:
· Materials: Concrete, rebar, wood, and other supplies to build durable concrete ramps and obstacles.
· Permits & Legal Fees: Setting up a non-profit dedicated to Chris’ vision and ensuring we can use the space at 100 Victor St legally and safely
· Future Maintenance and Improvements: Repairing cracks and adding obstacles.
It doesn’t stop with this one project, our goal in the coming months is to create a Chris Casey Foundation. The primary goal of the foundation is to preserve and expand upon the space that Chris gave his all to, The Slab. We see a path to saving and improving this space for the next generation of Altered Onions.
Ultimately the foundation would be a local advocate for all things skateboarding in St. Louis. From youth development to skatepark advocacy, we want to create an organization that honors Chris by honoring his passion for skateboarding. We need your help to reach these goals!
Call to Action
Please consider donating whatever you can afford. If you can’t donate money, please consider donations of REBAR, PLYWOOD, LUMBER, PAINT or LABOR! We completed a 6 yard concrete pour on Saturday August 23rd. In the coming months we will decide on a few additional obstacles with construction tentatively scheduled for October or November 2025.
Your contribution, no matter how small, makes a huge difference! Please donate today and help us create a space where the STL skateboard community can thrive. If you can't donate, you can still help by sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks.
Let’s keep the stoke alive for Chris and get this concrete flowing!
