Actually, to two heroes, a husband and wife whose honesty and kindness gave me my faith back in humanity.

A few days ago, my husband and I were heading to his brother’s house. I was getting our granddaughter into her car seat, and in the rush, my husband placed our entire cruise savings, thousands of dollars, on the roof of our car. Then we drove off.

Two miles later, the awful realization hit us. The money bag was gone.

We turned around and searched everywhere. I walked the street in tears, praying we’d somehow find it. But it had vanished.

The next day, my son posted on Facebook as a last hope.

And that’s when a man replied:

He and his wife had found the bag on the way home from Jason’s Deli, with their kids in the car. They looked inside. They could’ve kept it. They could’ve said nothing. But they didn’t. He messaged my son and said,

“I’ll meet you in the morning to return it.” I’m on a 24-hour shift. At first, I thought somebody was trying to mess with us, but he wasn’t, and he did exactly what he said he would do.

And he did. Every single dollar was still inside!
