Help Homeless Veterans: CSEA Car Wash Fundraiser

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Cat Kremm I have been raising money alongside the local (Long Island, NY Region 1 ) of CSEA ( Civil Service Employees Association ) for more than ten years alongside my father who is a Vietnam Veteran himself, and has held multiple roles on the committe including veteran affairs and outreach to local veterans who need help. When a veteran would get sick we would bring them gift baskets to the hospital so they felt supported. CSEA works really hard to do everything they do for the local Veterans. I am simply making this GoFundMe page to help with our Annual Car Wash which is today, Saturday July 27th. If you are local to long island we are doing the fundraiser at the CSEA Building located in Commack, NY. The exact address is 3 Garet Pl, Commack, NY 11725. It is located in the Commack South Shopping Center in same shopping center as Costco and Starbucks and Shoprite. The CSEA Building is directly across from Costco in the parking lot and I am sure the website will let me attach pictures I have to help anyone local looking to come down and donate in person and get their car washed and enjoy the BBQ we are doing or even just stop by to support. Any bit helps. The fundraiser is to raise money for homeless and displaced veterans in need. The Veterans Affairs Committee is near and dear to my heart as I have lost two brothers to the most recent war one killed in action and one passed recently due to the devastating impact the war has on our veterans. The Veterans Affairs Committee do all they can do raise money and we are constantly doing philanthropic events; going down to local veteran homes and spending time with the veterans putting together ice cream socials and every year go to the graves at Calverton National Cemetery. This Car Wash is just one of the many ways the CSEA helps raise money to continue to help veterans in need. The homeless rate of veterans is increasing astronomically and this fundraiser is specifically looking to help give 100% of proceeds to the Veterans Affairs Committee at Region 1 the Local CSEA region on Long Island so they may have the funds to continue to help those in need and not only continue to support but hopefully with your help provide even more.

I attached the article for my brother-in law who was a veteran who recently passed away and the beautiful cermony we did at his grave and the article was written by the amazing Wendy Bowie.

I attached the facebook link to the CSEA facebook where my father and I are at my brother's grave. He was killed in combat and Died October 27, 2005 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom. He gave his life at the young age of 24 and was a local hero as he lived in Hauppage, N.Y.

I am not a CSEA member but I am designating the proceeds to go to the CSEA veterans committee which I thank this amazing platform GoFundMe for allowing me to help in a new way other than having boots on the ground and being in person washing cars all day today at the location I listed above, the CSEA building in Commack from 10am-2pm. I am creating this to try to use the amazing reach we have with social media and this now this platform to allow others who can not come down in person to donate and help veterans in need who have given so much for our freedom. As a military family member I thank every veteran for their service and for putting their life on the line so that we may be free and safe. And I hope any veteran in need reaches out to get the support that they deserve and if any veteran is in need that you know of please refer them to the link below.

Thank you in advance for ANY and ALL donations as ANY BIT helps those who truly need it and deserve the support from all of us.

As my father would say "If you like your freedom thank a Veteran" So if you can not donate, as I understand times are tough, simply thank a Veteran you know for their service and offer a kind word and an ear to listen. You can go down to a local VA to donate what clothes or items they allow you, even if just your time. It means the world and could save a life.

Thank you to all the veterans that have made it this far, you are not alone and support is always here, and for all of the veterans who gave their lives for us. May you never be forgotten.
