Help Homeless Single Mother & Baby

Donation protected
My sister Sarah and her baby JC have fallen onto hard times. After the unexpected death of our mother and the birth of my nephew shortly after, she could no longer put up with her physically and emotionally abusive husband, fearing the safety of the child. After filing for a restraining order, she could no longer afford the rent she once shared with her husband. She was forced to leave her apartment and put her belongings in a storage unit. She then began short stays with friends and family, while working a minimum wage job. After months of trying to find a permanent place to stay on a minimum wage budget, a ray of sunshine appeared when my loving grandfather invited her and her baby to live in his house. All was well as he welcomed and enjoyed their presence in his home for eight months. In a sad twist of fate, two weeks ago our 87 year old grandfather had a tragic freak accident, affecting his brain and all cognitive movements, leading to his death one week later. The next day, our step-grandmother asked her to leave the house because her and my nephew were not wanted there any longer, leaving Sarah feeling isolated, alone and fearful once again with nowhere to go. As far as her separated husband, he has continued the emotional and mental abuse adding to the already sad and stressful situation. She now has until March 1st to find a safe home for herself and child. With myself and my father living in Pennsylvania, moving to another state is not an option for her right now, fearing the custody of my nephew going to her still abusive husband. She has been continuously looking to the state of New Jersey for help. They tell her that the waiting list for a women's shelter is up to three years because of a shortage of state funds, even in an emergency situation with a child involved, the waiting list is at least a few months which is not soon enough. This fund would be going towards a security deposit for an apartment, hopefully a few months rent, money to file divorce papers and the storage unit which she has not been able to pay for, which holds most of her belongings including our mothers heirlooms which will be auctioned off any day now. Any donations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading this and God Bless.
