Help Homeless Nicky and Sam with a Caravan
Donation protected
I'm Kelly, Nicky's older sister. 3 months ago Nicky and her partner were faced with loosing their rental of 4 years (which they shared with Nicky's beautiful 16 and 17 year old daughters - Lilly and Zoe) The owners of their rental home decided to sell their property giving them 6 weeks to move out. They were both working casual hours and applied for so many rentals trying to find an affordable rental for both them Lilly, Zoe and their rescue dog Kuma. Unfortunately due to the housing crisis they were unsuccessful. They were not able to stay with any family and friends and tried to set up a tent residence but due to the very flawed and unsupportive rules and Laws In WA ( for example there are very few caravan parks which allow tents and after 7 days U have to move on. There are a maximum of 5 tenting spots at any place and it costs $60 plus a night to stay in your own tent. The nearest free camping ground is in Dwellingup) unfortunately there is not much hope our there for the families living in their cars. Although they tried to set up camp as a temporary home , in WA if U stay at caravan sites with a caravan - pets are allowed but No if U are staying in a tent. So my sister Sammy and their dog have been living between their car , nights here and there at relatives or try to sneak their dogs into camping grounds. Not being able to have Nicky's Daughters with them atm due to their living situation has been so traumatic, they just can't seem to get a break, they have jobs lined up but living like this not knowing where they are sleeping each night has really taken its toll. Their goal is to eventually get into a rental to reunite them all again with Nicky's girls but a step to that is having some kind of home so they can go to work and move forwards. Family and friends have reached out asking how they can help so this is why I'm setting this fund up to help buy them a caravan so they can have some kind of place to call home for them and their dog whilst they start their new jobs. Please help .
