Hi, my name is Holly Horn. On the 17th of July, my husband, Miguel Gualdron Sanchez, was taken by ICE as we were leaving the immigration courtroom. He was applying for asylum, but as they are doing with nearly every case, they dismissed his. He signed papers to be deported to Colombia, though he is still in ICE custody and has been detained in Texas for over a month awaiting transport to Colombia.

Once he returns to Colombia, we will have a legal fight to have him come back to the US as my husband. I have consulted with a few attorneys and have chosen one that I feel will do our case justice. I have been quoted fees of $13,000 for the entire process. I wasn't going to ask for help, but I've had a lot of people ask me to do a GoFundMe, so I thought I would try. I know times are very difficult for everyone, and so I appreciate anything you are able to give to help us with this. In addition to legal fees, we will have fees related to travel for me to spend some time with my husband while we await the process (as it is estimated to take 3 to 5 years at this point). We will have to maintain two households as well, on one income for a while (until Miguel can find work in Colombia), which makes it very difficult to cover the attorney fees. Anything that we receive over the attorney's fees will be put towards maintaining the two households and travel expenses.
