Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

I’m reaching out to share the story of my incredible sister Holly and my sweet niece Anna, who both deserve a chance at a fresh start but are facing unimaginable challenges right now. Holly has been my rock for as long as I can remember. From babysitting me, being my fierce big sister to offering me a place to stay during my pregnancy with Nora, and taking me and my kids after my divorce, Holly has always been the one who puts everyone else’s needs before her own. She’s helped me every time I’ve found myself in need, she even gave me a car once when I was in need.

As a mother, Holly has poured everything into raising Anna. She’s been there at every softball game, wrestling match, and school concert, always showing up and always giving her best. Holly has put her own life on the back burner to make sure Anna would be able to do every extracurricular her heart desires and advocate for her academically. Anna is now in her final year of high school and is planning on going into medical school after she graduates. But lately, life has not been kind to Holly. After a traumatic breakup that led to a painful and lengthy legal battle, she’s found herself carrying the financial weight alone. She’s been struggling with chronic pain and neuropathy, which has made it impossible for her to work at full capacity. Despite her best efforts, the rising costs of living and mounting bills have left her in a place where she now needs help.

Holly is facing a major life transition right now. She needs to move in the next two weeks, and with her financial situation, this is incredibly difficult. On top of everything, her beloved dog Penelope, who has been a constant source of comfort, is rapidly declining. Penelope is suffering from seizures, blindness, and incontinence, and Holly has made the heartbreaking decision to lay her to rest before the move.

I’m starting this fundraiser to help Holly cover her moving expenses, and the cost of saying goodbye to Penelope in the most compassionate way possible. Our goal is to raise at least $2,000 to help her through this tough time and give her and Anna the chance to breathe and start fresh.

Holly is the most selfless person I know, and if you’ve ever been touched by her kindness, you know how deserving she is of some support in return. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and would help take some of the pressure off during this incredibly difficult time.
