Hi All, I’m sure some of you know, local Hilton legend David Bodwell from the west end of Joslin St.

Well Dave is having difficulty looking after his old original Hilton bungalow and as a result his ceilings are falling down.

We have contacted his caregivers, they are worried someone will be hurt and it’s going to affect him being able to continue receiving care at home.

We’ve been over to have a look and the place is also freezing. Not a shred of insulation to help keep the place warm over winter. 

To help Dave out I’ve seeked quotes for the work Dave needs and to do the ceilings and it’s around $4000. 

Insulation for the entire home is an estimated extra $1500-$2000 (not installed)

Due to the high costs Dave has allowed me Graham Moles his neighbor from Hines Rd to reach out the Hilton community for help.

The fantastic “Dads of Hilton” are ready and willing to help in any way they can, so to keep costs down we are going to do all the demo and grunt labour ourselves, leaving the professional plastering, cornice and gyproc work to the professionals. 

We have managed to squeeze the total budget down to $4000 for the whole job and I will be receiving the donations on David's behalf and using the funds to pay for the renovation work and related costs.

So if you know Dave or you are a Hilton local yourself, please give what you can to help the dads of Hilton give a genuine local battler an opportunity to stay warm and continue receiving the care he needs at his home.
