My cousin is currently going through one of the hardest and most heartbreaking times of her life. She has been trapped in a serious domestic violence relationship for years, and despite attempts to leave, she has found herself caught in a cycle that has been incredibly difficult to break.

This most recent incident was devastating. She was assaulted so severely that her eye socket was broken in multiple places, requiring surgery to repair the damage.

On top of everything she is already facing, her abuser took all of her belongings, leaving her with essentially nothing and forcing her to completely start over while she is still recovering from her injuries.

At the same time, she is facing every mother’s worst nightmare—being separated from her son. He means absolutely everything to her. While she focuses on healing physically and emotionally, she is also doing everything she can to create a safe, healthy, and stable life so she can work toward being reunited with him.

Her son deserves to grow up in a safe and peaceful environment, and she is determined to do everything necessary to give him that. Our biggest hope is that this will finally be the turning point that allows both of them to have the fresh start they desperately need.

We are raising money to help her replace basic necessities and belongings, cover medical and recovery expenses, transportation and living expenses, and establish a safe and stable home for herself and her son.

Leaving an abusive relationship is not always as simple as walking away. Right now, she needs support and resources—not judgment—as she works to permanently break this cycle and rebuild her life from the ground up.
