Help Support Mathura Jivan Das After a Violent Attack

Mathura Jivan Das has dedicated much of his life to devotional service. As a disciple of His Holiness Jayapataka Swami, he spent 10 years serving at the Krishna Balaram Mandir in Vrindavan, including cooking & offering his voice in the 24-hour kirtan seva assisting HG Aindra Prabhu. He also traveled throughout India as a kirtaniya, sharing the holy names and uplifting hearts through kirtan.

Today, Mathura works full-time managing a gas station—a job that helps him support himself and his wife Anuradha (HG Mother Chandravali’s daughter), but one that also carries risks. Sadly, those risks became reality.

Early yesterday , a man under the influence of drugs entered the store, caused a ruckus by knocking over shelves, stealing items and laying on the open floor. He refused to leave. Mathura tried speaking to him calmly, but the man wouldn’t move. When Mathura attempted to guide him out, the man lashed out, throwing a cup with ice in it at his head, then violently striking him twice in the face. The violent blows were sustained to his eye (resulting in stitches for a swollen black eye) and mouth knocking out several of Mathura’s front teeth.

He was rushed home, then taken to urgent care and later to the hospital. The sudden current dental work needed in order to treat his injuries has left him with $5,000 in upcoming medical bills—an unexpected burden for someone who has given so much to others.
To make matters worse, Mathura’s employer had never set up workplace injury insurance or worker’s compensation. While his boss is paying for his missed workdays to recover, there is no coverage for his medical expenses.

Mathura has spent years singing, serving, and inspiring countless people, including myself (his step son). Now, he needs our help. Your support—whether through a donation or by sharing this message—will help him recover from defenseless trauma and cover the cost of his urgent treatment.

No contribution is too small. Together, we can help ease his pain and show him the same compassion he has shown to so many.

Please consider helping Mathura Jivan heal from this truly traumatic experience
