Yes this is about reparations….. I am writing to you as a constructive citizen, a descendant of those who helped build this nation, and as a man seeking what is right and fair. I write not out of bitterness, but out of a deep and humble pride — pride in the strength of my ancestors, and in the belief that this country still has the capacity to honor its own ideals of justice.

For generations, Black Americans have carried the weight of unpaid labor, stolen land, lost opportunities, and deliberate exclusion from the wealth we helped create. The scars of those injustices have never been fully healed; they have simply changed form — from chains to policy, from ownership to inequality.

At 39 years old, I have lived long enough to see progress, but also to feel how far we still are from wholeness. I am not asking for a handout. I am asking for acknowledgment and repair — for an honest effort to correct what was deliberately broken. Reparations are not about guilt; they are about responsibility, restoration, and truth.

I ask you, as someone in a position of authority, to stand on the right side of history — to help move forward policies and actions that ensure descendants of enslaved people are compensated in meaningful, tangible ways. This is not just for me, but for every generation still paying the price of unfulfilled promises.

I believe reparations are an opportunity for America to show moral courage — to demonstrate that justice delayed does not have to mean justice denied.
