Help Hayley get an Xbox before her surgery
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Sandy and I'm fundraising for my daughter, Hayley who is nearly 14. Hayley has a type of genetic disability, called Noonan Syndrome; it affects many parts of her body and has caused two different types of heart disease.
One of the most physically debilitating problems with her condition has been on her ankles and feet. She's had surgery to lengthen tendons and release her plantar faschia. Her whole life she has walked on her toes and had an arch in the bottom of her foot. The upcoming surgery will be her ninth in three years and unfortunately it will be a brutal and painful recovery. It is called Os Calcis and 1st Metatarsal Osteotomy. Basically it's surgery where they break the heel bone and reposition it and hold it in with rods and screws.
I am hoping to get her a TV and Xbox for her room, she's a really keen gamer and very good at it.
Because of how hard her recovery will be, which will involve a very extended period in bed, I'm hoping to get her something that will not only keep her a bit more occupied, but also maybe something that takes her mind off of the pain.
Hayley is an incredibly sweet and kind girl, she's sincerely the kindest person I've ever met and I'm so proud of her. Unfortunately a lot of costs go with surgery, even though I'm of course extremely grateful to have Medicare, costs like parking, petrol, time off work add up and I'm hoping to also be able to help give my Mum some money towards her airplane tickets up here, my Mum has never missed a surgery for Hayley and this one won't be any different, but Mum doesn't make much money either and I'd love to be able to help her.
Anything at all is appreciated.
Thank you so much.
