Help Reunite Hatem & His Family with His Mother – A Mother's Day Miracle
"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you." – Exodus 20:12

Dear Friends,

There are moments in life when we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus—to extend love, to offer hope, and to make a difference in someone’s life. This is one of those moments.

Many of you know Hatem El-Sayegh, his wife Marlyn, and their four wonderful children. Hatem is a man of deep faith, kindness, and unwavering love for his family. But what you may not know is the heartbreaking journey his family has endured over the past 18 months.

A Mother’s Escape from War
Hatem grew up in Palestine as a Christian, part of a small religious minority. Decades ago, he moved to the United States and became a citizen, while one of his brothers relocated to Ireland. Their beloved mother, now 77 years old, remained in Palestine, faithfully holding onto her Christian faith despite the trials around her.

When war broke out in October 2023, everything changed.

Hatem’s mother, along with hundreds of other Christian Palestinians, was forced to flee her home. They took refuge in a church, where they endured unimaginable suffering—scarce food, violence in the streets, no access to medicine, and the heartbreak of watching their homes be destroyed. For nearly 18 months, she survived, sleeping on the cold floor of the church without a mattress, sharing a single bathroom with over a hundred people, while war raged outside.

Through the tireless efforts of the Irish government, an incredible breakthrough happened—Hatem’s mother was finally granted permission to leave. She has now arrived safely in Dublin, Ireland, where she is being cared for by Hatem’s brother.

After months of anguish, God has answered prayers. She is safe.

But the story doesn’t end here.

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Chance for Reunification
Hatem, Marlyn, and their children have spent the past 18 months grieving, praying, and holding onto faith. And while they had hoped to bring Hatem’s mother to the U.S., the circumstances made it impossible.

Now, we have a chance to give this family the ultimate gift—a long-awaited reunion.

This Mother’s Day, we want to help send Hatem, Marlyn, and their four children to Ireland to finally embrace his mother, to weep tears of joy instead of sorrow, to celebrate God’s faithfulness, and to give his mother the love and comfort she has gone so long without.

"Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ." – Galatians 6:2

How You Can Help
Hatem and his family are unaware of this fundraiser. It is being organized by friends who love them dearly and want to bless them in a way they never could have imagined.

We are raising money to cover airfare, lodging, and travel expenses so the entire family can spend this precious time together. This is more than a trip—it is a long-overdue family embrace, a healing moment, and a testament to the power of faith, love, and community.

A Call to Action: Be a Part of Their Story
If your heart has been moved by their story, we ask you to give whatever you can. No amount is too small. Every dollar brings them one step closer to this beautiful reunion.

If you cannot give, we ask for your prayers. Pray for this family. Pray for peace. Pray that this Mother’s Day will be one of unspeakable joy, not just for Hatem’s family, but for every family separated by war.

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." – Matthew 5:9

This is our chance to be the hands and feet of Christ, to be the answer to someone’s prayer, to bring joy where there has been sorrow.

Let’s come together and make this Mother’s Day one that will never be forgotten.
