Help Harm Reduction Circle Become a Nonprofit

Harm Reduction Circle originally started out as a handful of friends promoting harm reduction at events in Southern California but we now consist of over 250+ highly dedicated volunteers committed to promoting health & awareness within our communities spread across 8 different states. We providing free harm reduction education by distributing brochures & flyers focusing on over 15+ different topics & through peer-to-peer education. We also offer Complimentary Substance Testing using reagent test kits & Fentanyl test strips at in-person events throughout the California, Arizona, Nevada, & Utah. We distribute condoms, earplugs, face masks, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, baby wipes, feminine hygiene products, & so much more! We also distribute Narcan Nasal Spray — we were fortunate to give out over 250+ doses in the last month alone! Our rapid expansion in just 6 months has graciously put us into the position to be able to reach & connect with so many people — we simply just don’t have the funds to access all the necessary supplies we need.

Harm Reduction supplies like Fentanyl test strips, reagent test kits, & Narcan are not cheap. We hope to become a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization to have access to grants, tax exempt status, legal resources, along with other government resources would allow us to not only continue our efforts but to continue rapidly expanding our outreach into new regions & new communities. We also hope by gaining tax exempt status to participate in the Naloxone Distribution Project (NDP).

The legal paperwork to become a Nonprofit Organization costs $600 to file with the Secretary of State. We also consulted with a law firm to help us through the process who is asking for an additional $600.
