Harlow Farm has been around for generations. We are located in Westminster, Vermont. We have relied on the dedication and hard work of men from Jamaica through the H-2A program for the past 25 years. Over that time, individuals like Junior, Police, Perry, and Raymond have become much more than seasonal workers—they are family. Their commitment and friendship have been essential to our farm’s success, and we truly could not do what we do without them.
Earlier this week, Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica, leaving many communities devastated. Communication has been limited, but we know that Junior and Perry have both sustained damage to their homes. The full extent of the destruction is still unclear, and we are concerned for all of the men who work with us, as we do not know what they are returning home to. Our goal is to help with emergency housing repairs, replace lost belongings, and provide funds for whatever urgent needs arise as they recover from this disaster. The money raised will be divided among the men who need it most, so that support reaches not only Junior and Perry, but also Police, Raymond, and others affected by the hurricane.
The bond between Harlow Farm and these men is strong. They are hardworking, caring, funny, and we have depended on them for years. They have given so much to our community, and now we want to give back. Any support you can offer will go directly to helping these men and their families as they rebuild and recover. Thank you for standing with us and with our extended family in Jamaica.
