Hi Everyone, I am Natalie, I am here on behalf of my gorgeous nephew Harlan who is 3 years old. My brother's (Matt) son.

Harlan was born by emergency c section as mum (Amy) had a placental abruption at 28 and 2 weeks. During labour Harlan suffered grade 3(L) and grade 4 (R) bleeds on the brain. This led to Harlan having lifelong conditions of Cerebral Palsy, hydrocephalus, chronic lung disease, he also has a VP shunt and Omaya Reservoir.

Harlan is unable to sit, stand or walk unaided, and requires AFO leg braces, bamboo arm braces, leg stints, which he uses as part of his physio therapy.

Harlan also has standing and sitting frames but these can only be transported in the car from mum’s house to dad’s house.

Due to the ongoing healthcare crisis, long waiting lists and staff shortages in the Child Disability Network, Harlan is not able to access the equipment he needs for his rehabilitation, so we need to try and purchase these ourselves, some of the equipment that we are looking to purchase are a Go To Seat, Snappy Cloud Buggy, due to these being specialised for disabled children they are so much more costly than a standard buggy and seat.

A snappy cloud buggy base price is £1750.00 and with required accessories cost could go up to £2750.00. A Go Too Seat is around £600 including VAT.

Snappy Cloud Buggy - Improves posture, aids head control, pressure redistribution, correcting kyphotic postures and improving consumption, digestion and elimination.

With both of the above pieces of equipment Harlan would have a better quality of daily living. Currently when at dad’s house Harlan only has a standard highchair which is not practical or comfortable for Harlan and restrictive he is unable to play or sit on the floor. The Go To Seat will allow Harlan to sit and play with his sister and daddy. The seat will help with posture and is also portable so Harlan would have a better time when out at parks or visiting family and friends.

Currently dad has a standard buggy and the Snappy Cloud Buggy would be so much better and practical for Harlan.

These items aren’t just luxuries – they’re things Harlan needs to live comfortably.

There is more equipment we need out there but feel now these are the most important and we can purchase quickly with your help.
