Help Hannah Battle MDS and Liver Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kayla Butler and I'm creating this in hope for some support for my cousin Hannah & her family. A lot of people know Hannah's story but I'm posting this for those who don't. Anyone who knows Hannah knows she has always been the most positive and sweetest person, despite facing cancer after cancer.
In may of 2024 Hannah was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) which is a rare blood cancer. In order to survive this she needs a bone marrow transplant & we were lucky enough to discover her brother (Ethan) is a match. In order to get the transplant Hannah was receiving extensive chemotherapy to put her in remission, meaning Jenny (her mom/medical proxy) and Hannah will be going back and forth to Riley hospital and local appointments closer to home. Once these numbers started to improve they needed to stay at the hospital one month before and two months after the transplant. Meaning Jenny would not be able to work during this time. When they got closer to scheduling this and chemo was working, they reached another bump in the road to curing Hannah's MDS. She now has her 5th cancer, Hepatocellular Carcinoma, which affects the liver. She will receive 5 cycles of radiation that will hopefully eradicate the tumor. Fortunately it was caught early but this would need to be considered cured for her to be able to receive the bone marrow transplant, which is a must in order for her to survive MDS. We’re hoping this isn’t going to disqualify her. Hannah's prognosis isn’t good the MDS is very aggressive.
Hannah was diagnosed with her first cancer, a brain tumor, at age 7. She was later diagnosed with Sarcoma, then Thyroid Cancer that has been stable for the last few years, then MDS in May of 2024, followed Hepatocellular Carcinoma which they just found out about on August 28th 2024.
We know that Hannah is a fighter, she has proven that. With things getting harder, and more frequent hospital visits & doctors appointments, I am asking first and foremost that everyone can keep her in your thoughts/ prayers. All monetary donations would be put towards gas back and forth, food, Hannah's needs & still having bills to pay while taking time off work; with everyone's first priority being that Hannah is okay. Thank you for taking your time to read this.
