I am a father, a Palestinian man who once dreamed of a better future for my children. I never imagined our lives would be shattered by war. I have two children—a boy and a girl, once full of life and hope. But the reality of life here in Gaza has taken a heavy toll on them and on me.

I was injured in an Israeli airstrike while trying to protect my family. One moment I was standing, and the next, I was lying in the rubble, fighting for my life. My body is scarred, and I still live with daily pain. But what hurts me most is not being able to provide even the most basic necessities for my children—food, shelter, and clothing.

My son, who should be playing and learning, now knows hunger more than joy. My daughter, who should be dreaming of her future, often asks for things I cannot give her. They deserve to grow up safe, warm, and nourished—yet I struggle to provide them with even a single meal each day.

Every morning, I wake up praying for a way to give my children dignity and stability. All I want is to be a father who can meet their basic needs: that they may eat, sleep under a roof, and have clothes to wear.
