Support The Give BACK — Help a Family Experience the Joy of the Holidays

Every year, as the holiday season approaches, many families across the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) face the difficult reality of not being able to enjoy a holiday meal. While the holidays are often filled with food, fun, and family gatherings, this isn’t the reality for everyone—far too many of our neighbours experience stress, isolation, and financial hardship during this time.

The Give BACK was created with a simple belief: we all have a role to play in making sure the people around us are living well.

When our community comes together, we can lift each other up.

This initiative is rooted in collective responsibility, compassion, and the understanding that everyone deserves dignity, joy, and support—especially during the holiday season.

Our Impact Since 2016

Thanks to generous donors and community partners, The Give BACK has already made a meaningful difference:

• $18,389 raised through community donations

• 191 families supported with holiday meals, toys, or grocery gift cards

• Approximately 150 lbs of canned goods and $1,374 donated to Feed Nova Scotia

• 100% of funds (minus standard GoFundMe fees) go directly to families in HRM

This is the power of community. Every contribution—big or small—helps ensure a family experiences the warmth and joy of the holidays.

How You Can Make a Difference

Like previous years, every $100 raised = 1 family supported through a $100 grocery gift card.

This simple, direct model ensures families can purchase what they need most.

Beyond monetary donations, you can support the campaign by:

• Sharing on social media

• Encouraging your workplace or community group to get involved

• Helping spread the word to those who want to help but don’t know how

The campaign closes on December 18th.

With your help, we can make this season memorable for as many families as possible.
