I created this go fund me on behalf of my previous foster daughter Halaighna. Below is her story:

I have been in foster care since the time I was 11. I have lived in program after program then finally at 16 I was placed in a family. I have had years of trauma and when I was 18 I had my son. My son is 10 months old and over the past year I have struggled with many different obstacles. I recently moved to Georgia a few months ago because my grandfather let me move into his home and due to the housing costs in Mass and being in a domestic violence relationship I decided to move there. I came back a few weeks ago because I needed to get the rest of my belongings. Unfortunately I was pulled over and due to all the moving I have done this year I did not realize I had outstanding parking tickets and unpaid excise taxes. The officer told me my license is suspended and now it will cost me $1000 to reinstate it due to all the unpaid bills. I also have to pay my insurance $920 and my car now needs breaks $450. I also need additional money to go back to Georgia since I’ve had to stay in Mass longer I have used up what I had saved. I do not want to lose my insurance and I really need to get my license turned back on so I can drive back. Also without a license I can’t bring my son to appointments get a job etc because where I live in Georgia is the middle of nowhere. I really worked hard to buy a car and get my license and I really need help turning it back on. I fled domestic violence and my abuser went to jail a few months ago after attacking me. I finally got away and moved to Georgia after being with him for 3 years. I have been in very bad relationships and I’m trying to break the cycle. Since I recently moved to Georgia I have not been able to save enough money for all of my outstanding bills. It’s hard enough being a 19 year old let alone a 19 year old with a baby and who’s grown up in the foster care system and with relatively no one. I finally had saved almost enough money for my insurance and unfortunately when I visited my biological mother she stole it. I just feel like I am in a hole I am trying so hard to get out of. I am just asking everyone for a little bit of help just to help my baby and I get back to our home in Georgia. We can’t stay In Mass because we have no where to live and I do not want to be around my abuser. I am really asking for help with getting back to Georgia! Any little bit helps. Thank you so much! I just want my son to have a good life and us to be able to go home to Georgia and in order to do that my license, insurance and breaks need to be done.
