My name is Hailei, and I recently gave birth to my fifth child, Kenadi, on November 11th. What should have been a joyful time for our family quickly turned into a nightmare. After Kenadi was born, I was in a lot of pain, and it turned out the hospital had left part of my placenta inside my body. I was already at high risk for postpartum hemorrhage, and within the first week, I lost so much blood that I had to be hospitalized repeatedly. I underwent a D&C and was given medication to prevent further blood loss, but it wasn’t enough. I ended up needing two blood transfusions to replace what I had lost.

Because of everything my body went through, my milk supply dropped, and I’ve been struggling with depression. I was supposed to start a new job on November 24th, but I’m still not well enough to work, and my significant other couldn’t start his job either because he needed to care for me and our children. We have no income right now, and I can’t afford formula for Kenadi. We’re facing eviction, and our apartment complex has already given us a pay-or-quit notice. The holidays are approaching, and I have no way to give my kids a Christmas this year.

I have always tried to provide for my family, but right now, I am at a loss. We have exhausted every resource and have no one left to turn to.
