A Mother’s Fight to Keep Her Son Safe

Hey Everyone,

I am reaching out for an urgent financial support matter regarding legal fees. My mother and stepfather are sueing me for custody of my son. I know this might seem out of the ordinary, but the situation has been very difficult. There is a lot of history of emotional and physical abuse that goes into this situation, however I do not feel comfortable posting that information on the internet, so I will just give you a idea of what we have recently experienced. The day we moved out, they locked me out of their home and refused to let me take my son with me, withheld both our social security cards, refused to give many of my sons belongings and necessities, made threats about excluding me from family events, harrassed my boyfriends work and called CPS.

We had been living with them until I recently graduated, however I eventually became aware that it was an unsafe environment for both my son and I, causing us to excelerate our move out date.

I can’t go into all the details publicly for privacy reasons, but I am hoping to reach out to family and friends to help protect my son from experiencing the same emotional and physical abuse that I did. Any support would be greatly appreciated, whether it is financial support or prayers.
