I am Greg, and I am asking for help to save the historic home of Magee's bakery in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. My family and I purchased this building in 2000, and we operated the bakery there until it closed in 2023. In 2024, after I purchased the building, I became involved in an access dispute over parking that has put everything I have worked for at risk. This conflict has pushed me close to default on the mortgage and has also taken a painful personal toll, contributing to my divorce. I even offered to sell the building to the other party, but my offer was ignored. Instead of working toward a reasonable solution, I believe I am being pressured toward bankruptcy.
This building is more than property to me. It represents a lifetime of work, family history, and more than thirty years of service to the Lexington community. The funds raised will go toward mortgage payments and toward helping rebuild Magee's bakery in its historic location. I do not have the financial resources or business experience of the other party, so I am turning to the community that has known and supported Magee's over the years. If you are able, please consider donating and sharing my fundraiser. Your support will help me keep this building, retain my home, and hold on to a place that means so much to me and my family.
