This gofundme is meant to help raise funds for a new OBI machine (meetobi.com) for my dad.

He has MS and has a tremor in his right arm/hand and is unable to feed himself. The OBI has been a real game-changer for him. It allows him to eat independently. He had one but the assisted living facility where he lives managed it a little roughly and broke some of the outside housing of the machine.

Since his Medicare does not cover it, he sent it back to the company for repairs. They told him that they wouldn’t guarantee it since the chips and fissures in the plastic housing might happen again, allowing water to get in and damage the electronic motor.

Before getting a new OBI, he has spoken to and gotten assurance from the kitchen and serving staff that they will treat a new OBI with t.l.c from now on.

We know that his independence is very important to him.
