My friend Grant faces many challenges. He has severe scoliosis, which has rendered him physically disabled, and he has become homeless in recent years. Despite all of this, he is probably one of the most genuine and compassionate people I know, with not an ounce of bitterness toward his circumstances or others. He carries a profound gratitude wherever he goes.

He has not yet gotten disability benefits because he has been solely focused on surviving day-by-day and making his nightly hotel bills or staying in shelters. During these colder months, it's especially critical that Grant sleep indoors, but it's become very costly to keep him in a hotel. The hope is to crowd-fund so that we can get Grant a few weeks to a month stay through Airbnb or VRBO, and in that time we can focus on meeting his needs around getting a disability attorney, etc.

The funds raised will help cover safe housing for Grant, legal support to help him apply for disability benefits, and daily essentials like food and water. This support will hopefully give him some stability and a chance to focus on long-term solutions.

It's taken me a while to put this GoFundMe together, but one of my wishes as I approached my 30th birthday (on February 7th) was that I wanted to raise money to support my friends in homelessness, specifically my friend Grant. The idea came to me: What if I asked 30 people to give 30? Then I thought a bit bigger — maybe 100 people!

What if I called out to my network and invited people to step in and potentially be a part of changing just one person's life trajectory? Perhaps you can give 30, or pool your support with a few friends or coworkers... or, maybe you can set aside some time to research ways to help make an impact in the homeless community, or take time to pray and ask God for direction and provision.
