Help Grandpa Gary Rebuild After Fire
Donation protected
Hello!
I'm Kathryn Williams and my Grandpa is Gary Foisy. He used to live at a little grey-blue house in Green Run. The night of January 1, 2025, while I was recovering from New Year's celebrations, his house caught on fire. This house was where he lived with his late wife, Rosemary. I grew up spending afterschool time here, and lavish Christmases with tinsel dripping from the tree. My sister, her husband (both now deceased), and their two children once lived here as well. So much family history was held in this house and so much of it we had to throw away due to damages from fire and the extinguishing of the fire. My mom and my grandpa now share a crumbling doublewide trailer in the meantime as people look at the house and attempt to rebuild. This house was a time capsule of memories and genuine MCM furniture. Wall paneling and wallpapers that I'd give my left leg for these days. We will never have that back, but you can help us restore what we were able to salvage. A 100-year-old secretary desk made by a long-passed grandfather, a unique curio cabinet from the 1920s, and help us install appropriate flooring throughout the house.
Anything helps when starting with basically nothing.
Insurance is of course covering the bare minimum. In our effort to make the home livable for my aging grandfather and mother, carpet throughout is not accessible and we cannot afford the out-of-pocket costs for another option given by our contractor.
