I have been a grandmother and caretaker for my son's three children for almost two years. Two months ago, my son tragically fell and died. He worked very hard to provide for his children and to help us maintain our old vehicles when he could. I now find myself needing a more reliable vehicle to transport the children to doctors, dentists, and now school. I was hoping to get the needed repairs done to the car I was driving, but considering the age of the car, I would be safer to have a newer model. I have researched what is available in my area and should find something reliable around $3k.
I have found a car that has a few issues, mostly cosmetic and needs an oil service. It does have some nice features, like room for a Costco/Winco grocery excursion, with two adults, two pre-teens and two toddlers. It runs well and has both A/C and heat, both of which my Honda is lacking. It has good windows without blind spots. All but one of the running lights work, brakes feel good, tires look good. I think it is a good choice for the range I was looking? I am thankful to have found something that actually fits the family comfortably and safely. I still need to reach my goal to cover the price. It is even more important that I have the oil service, new bulb, and of course registration and insurance. I am going to get the Veteran plates the VA said I am eligible to use. I am now looking forward to getting the kids to school and not having such frustration and concern about the car. I think we are going to get through this difficult time? I am sincerely appreciative of the support and kindness. This experience helps us to see things are not always bleak and to be thankful for the great moments. Thank you again to everyone supporting and sharing.
