Tania Beckford, a beloved 68 year old grandmother from Hampton District, St. Ann, has spent her life caring for others — her children, grandchildren, and neighbors — always opening her door with kindness, a warm smile, and a home-cooked meal. But today, that same door barely stands.

When Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, its fierce winds and relentless rains completely ripped the roof off Tania’s home, leaving her exposed to the storm’s fury. Torrents of rain poured inside, soaking everything — from her furniture and appliances to precious family memories gathered over decades. What was once a safe haven filled with laughter and love is now waterlogged, damaged, and unsafe.

Despite her heartbreak, Grandma Tania remains resilient — but she cannot face this alone. Her home needs urgent repairs, especially a new roof to protect her from further loss and to help her regain stability.
